Easy to Install Panels Save Time and Cost
Aqua-Dek comes in 2’ x 4’ and 2’ x 3’ panel sizes in either tan or grey. The panels weigh just 8.5 lbs or less so they can be installed at the factory, eliminating on-site installation costs and associated shipping costs. Dock owners can leave panels on all season, even owners that remove their dock for seasonal storage.
Builders can save on frame material and construction costs because Aqua-Dek panels are designed for 24” or 18” on center framing. No need for 12“ or 16” on center framing with Aqua-Dek. By eliminating stringers manufacturing cost savings of up to $2.00 per square can be achieved. At stringer spacing of 18” (2x3 panel) or 24“ (2x4 panel), Aqua-Dek maintains its load capacity of 1000 psf.
Aqua-Dek panels are also less expensive than similar products. Costs savings of 25% to 51% per square foot can be realized by using Aqua-Dek versus Thru-Flow, Titan or True Harbor. Each panel has nine pre-drilled, countersunk mounting holes to accept #10 or #12 pan head screws. Screws are hand tightened only to allow for slight expansion and contraction due to temperature variations. Each panel has a 1/2” flange on one side that the next panel overlaps to provide a flush walking surface.
Let’s Review The Advantages and Savings
- Cost 25% to 51% per square foot less than Thru-Flow, Titan or True Harbor
- Save up to $2.00 per square foot by eliminating excess stringers
- Aqua-Dek needs only 18” (2x3 panel) or 24“ (2x4 panel) on center stringers
- Panels reduce installation time by 50% over 12” wide panels and 10x over single boards or 4x4 panels made from single boards
- Install panels at factory to save shipping costs and on-site labor costs
- Weigh just 8.5 lbs per panel but deliver 1000 psf load capacity
- Non-slip surface that stays cool even in the hot summer sun
- 45% open surface allows sunlight, water and debris to pass through
- Zero maintenance for dock owner
Aqua-Dek panels are easy to install and designed specifically to mount on 18" or 24" center framing (see figure 1) without a loss of support strength, and reducing the structural frame members needed.

Each panel has nine pre-drilled and countersunk mounting holes to accept # 10 or #12 pan head screws (stainless recommended). The screws need to be hand tightened only to allow for slight expansion and contraction of the panels due to air temperature changes. Each panel has a 1/2" flange on one side so the next panel will overlap the first for a seamless fit.
